It is our mission to provide students with many extra curricular activities that offer a variety of opportunities to get involved at La Serna. We understand that high school is full of choices, and we want our students to be active participants in the paths they choose. We believe that involvement is a wonderful way for students to enjoy a sense of community, so we invite them to broaden their educational career by taking part in a wide range of extra curricular experiences! ACTIVITY CLEARANCE
Students interested in participating in school sponsored events or extra curricular activities (Homecoming, Sadies, Prom, etc.) must complete a Dance Contract, which requires students be cleared from each office before students are allowed to purchase tickets.

ACTIVITY PERMITS
Activity permits must be obtained 72 hours in advance of the activity from the activity supervisor, coach, club advisor, or teacher. Permits signed by parents and teachers must be returned to the activity supervisor 24 hours prior to the activity. Teachers have the right to refuse permission for students to leave their class for activities.


ATHLETIC CLEARANCE
All athletes must complete an online athletic clearance registration at www.AthleticClearance.com,  upon completion turn in the signed confirmation page to the activities office.  All athletes must also turn in a completed sports physical clearance to the activities office.  After receipt of both documents student will be cleared to participate in sports, cheer and/or band.  If you do not have a doctor, low cost physicals may be obtained for $20 at the Uptown Wellness Center: 7354 Painter Ave., Whittier, 90602, 562-789-1999.

ID CARDS
ID/ASB card pictures are taken in May.  All freshmen and other students new to La Serna must have their ID/ASB card picture taken during Program Pick Up in August. The ID card is free, but if lost or stolen, the fee for lost ID cards is $5.00 for each replacement.
 
ASB CARDS
Students may buy an ASB card throughout the year in the Business and Activities Office for a $50.00 fee. It is recommended that Student-Athletes purchase an ASB card. You must have an ASB Card to receive a Varsity Letter/Emblem/Star.

Why would students need to purchase an ASB Card?
ASB stands for Associated Student Body. ASB funds are used to provide activities and services which benefit the entire student body. The ASB Card entitles students to the following benefits:
Free admission to home sporting events (except CIF games)
Discounts at Dances
Discounts at School Events
Discount on Yearbook
