School Dismissal online journal prompt. I've been thinking about you all a lot lately as we adjust to this new situation and I just want to check on you. Please open a Google Doc and let me know how you and your family are doing. How have you been affected? What are you doing to try to keep your sanity? Are you, or your family, in need of anything? Feel free to vent or discuss anything else you want to :)
I'm doing pretty good. My girls are all home, too, so they get stir crazy after awhile. Last Friday we made a list of stuff to do to break up the montany (like the bucket lists we make for summer). I know we are limited, but it's so important to turn off the news and social media that may be stirring up anxiety. Go for a walk to get some fresh air and vitamin D (my dog Stella is thrilled with how many more walks we're taking her on!). Exercise is important, too. I'm planning to pick up yoga again as it has always helped me manage my stress. Find some fun and entertaining shows or mivies to watch, books to read, or podcasts and music to listen to. I have a huge stack of books that I started plowing through. Whenever my girls start getting a bit anxious about all this, I remind them that we are safe and now have a chance to hang out more and do stuff that we never seem to have time for (we're redecorating their room), we rely on our faith, family & friends. I know there is a lot of scary info out there, but there are far more people out there willing to do was is good & right (my neighborhood has really rallied around each other - checking in on each other and sharing stuff when needed). We may be stuck away from each other for quite awhile, but it won't last forever.
Please tell me all that you want to in your journal entry. I'm the only one who will see it
