About Me

Born in Dodge City, Kansas, aka the Cowboy Capital of the World, and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I ventured out of the Land of Enchantment to the Golden State on a scholarship to Whittier College. At this stellar liberal arts gem, I pursued a degree in history with an emphasis in gender studies. Involvement in student government and volunteer work coupled with externships at a few local museums and after school childcare development centers paved the way for my career choice in teaching. While studying education at Claremont University, I taught summer school at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera. Thus began my journey as a Lady Don. Over the past decade, I have had the distinct pleasure of teaching everything from TEAM, AP European History, Honors World History to Sociology, Geography & English. Moreover, this experience has been enriched by my involvement as a class advisor, Academic Decathlon coordinator, swimming & water polo assistant coach, & drama department improv supporter. I have learned so much in a short period of time and hope that this passion continues to grow!

Now, in my second decade of teaching, I am joining "The Kingdom" as a World Civ and Econ/Gov teacher at La Serna High School in Whittier, CA. I can't wait to write some new chapters to my storybook.
