La Serna High School will celebrate approximately 580 Lancers at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 5 at the Sandra Sanchez Thorstenson Stadium, 9800 Mills Ave., Whittier.
Leading the Class of 2019 as valedictorian is Olivia Genao, who will major in neuroscience at Yale University.
Olivia is La Serna's 2019 Student of the Year and was offered a full-tuition scholarship to the prestigious Ivy League. She has received numerous honors for her leadership experience, serving as president of La Serna’s National Honor Society and the Whittier chapter of the National Charity League.
Among the graduates is salutatorian Colin McKenzie, who will attend Arizona State University as a biotechnology and molecular biology major. Colin plans to pursue genetic engineering research.
Both students were cited as National Merit Commended Scholars.
